Time Is of the Essence – Seek Care Right Away

Under ICBC’s Enhanced Care program, everyone injured in a vehicle crash is automatically preapproved for a set number of treatments without a doctor’s referral during the first 12 weeks from the date of injury. Coverage includes:

  • 25 sessions each of physiotherapy and chiropractic
  • 12 sessions each of massage therapy, kinesiology (active rehab), acupuncture

Once you’ve reached either the 12-week period or used the maximum number of pre-approved sessions, your practitioner can submit a request to ICBC for treatment extension. These requests are quite common and, in most cases, do not cause any delays or interruptions in your care.
